Charles Parks American Realist Sculptor
Young Boy

For literally thousands of years, sculptors have been casting their work in bronze, one of the most durable and beautiful metals known to mankind. The demanding process of casting in bronze has been handed down from master to apprentice over generations, to be inherited by contemporary sculptors working in traditional methods.

The strength and durabilty of bronze make it ideal for sculptures that can be displayed out-of-doors, as well as in more controlled settings.

Editions

The bronze castings by Charles Parks shown in the galleries in this section are all available for purchase, unless otherwise indicated.

The sculptures have been cast in limited editions, the number of which was determined by the artist based on their size, subject and complexity. The number in which each edition is cast is indicated next to the listing.

Sizes and Prices

The sculptures have often been created by the artist at more than one size, utilizing the traditional "pantograph" technique from the 19the Century, which is in turn based on methods that can be traced to ancient Greek and Roman sculptors. This is the same method Rodin and his assistant Henri Lebossé used to scale his sculptures.

Where the pieces by Charles Parks have been created in multiple sizes, the size, price and number of each edition is listed.

The Online Galleries

The galleries employ a slide-show display. You can stop or start the slide show at will, jump to the next or previous image, or select an image from the thumbnail and pop-up preview images. The double arrows advance to the next set of thumbnails.

Each listing includes links at the lower right to one or two larger images that will allow you to view the piece in more detail.

The sculptures have been arranged into general categories, each one of which has a dedicated page:
